Sorry for the delay, been away for the christmas period,
in the past ive tried a few different things to help with extraction, the kitchen hob extractions i found didnt work too well, they did a bit of the job but not enough.
one of the things i personally use is a hydroponics extraction fan. depending on the size of the fan they will shift way more air and even the smaller 8" fans will work really well. and they are relatively quiet.
the important part is to make sure its filtered well. this will stop any paint particles building up on the fans themselves.
For just airbrushing a small 8" will be more than enough, and will extract way more than you think, so a control switch (almost like a dimmer) is a good idea to control how fast the fan goes. also, as it moves quite a lot of air, you will need to make sure that there is plenty of air coming into the area to compensate for the air being taken out if that makes sense as not to cause any vacuum or air pressure in the room.
ill try to get a document sorted to show an effective extraction system for download on here,
Happy New Year
